What are the most effective ways Access students can show their commitment to the chosen degree or career path in their application?
Students can show their commitment to the course and career path by focusing their application on the specific profession they are wanting to apply for, by demonstrating their understanding of the role and scope of the profession, by showing their understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work as that professional, by providing examples of research and work experience they have undertaken within the specific profession they are applying for, and by demonstrating how they have the relevant qualifications for the profession.
I think that’s really encouraging for applicants to hear, because it shows that admissions tutors aren’t just looking at grades on a page. They want to see a clear sense of direction – that the student has researched the profession, understands what the role involves, and has already started to develop the right mix of knowledge and practical insight. It makes the application much stronger and more personal.
