The Access to HE Diploma is a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification. To use the title “Access to HE”, a course must be recognised under the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) Recognition Scheme.

Q: Can I use this Access to HE Diploma to apply for an Events Management degree?
A: Yes. The diploma can support applications to Events Management and related business, hospitality and tourism courses. It contains 45 graded Level 3 Business credits, together with 15 ungraded academic skills credits.
Q: Do I need a previous Events Management or Business qualification?
A: No. AOLL does not require a previous Events Management or Business qualification to begin the diploma. The learning materials introduce Level 3 concepts progressively. Students should be prepared to research topics, analyse information, consider different business decisions and explain their conclusions in written assignments.
Q: Do I need experience of organising events before starting the diploma?
A: No. Students do not need previous experience of organising events, festivals, conferences, weddings or other functions. Relevant experience may provide useful context, but it is not required. This could come from employment, volunteering, community activities, fundraising, customer service or helping to organise personal events.
Q: Do I need to organise an event before enrolling?
A: No. AOLL does not require students to have planned or delivered an event before enrolling. The course develops Level 3 Business knowledge and academic study skills from the beginning.
Q: Will I learn how to plan an event?
A: The Developing a Business Plan unit teaches students how to research, organise and present a structured business proposal. Students consider objectives, marketing, resources, finance and the rationale for a business idea.
Q: Will I learn how to create an event budget?
A: Finance for Business is a six-credit graded unit. Students examine different sources of business finance, financial statements, cash flow and the importance of financial planning.
Q: Will I study event marketing and promotion?
A: Exploring Marketing Concepts is a three-credit ungraded unit. Students examine the purpose of marketing and different approaches to market research. Marketing is also considered within the Developing a Business Plan unit.
Q: Will I study Market Research?
A: Yes. Exploring Marketing Concepts introduces different approaches to market research. The ungraded Research Skills unit also covers questionnaires, surveys, observations, case studies, experiments and correlations.

How do I get my certificate?
