How can our students best demonstrate that their Access to HE Diploma has prepared them for the academic rigour of a university course?
Students can demonstrate how the Access course has prepared them for university by talking about how they have managed the academic demands and assessments of the course, while also juggling life, part-time jobs, and also families.
Managing those responsibilities really mirrors what life is like at university. It shows that they’ve already developed resilience and time-management skills, which are just as important as the academic side. So in their statement they can almost frame the Access course as a real training ground for higher education.
