What qualifications do I need to do an Access to Higher Education course?

There are no specific qualifications that are required for you to join our online Access to Nursing course; however, universities usually require you to have GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above (above 4 or 5 with the new GCSE grading system). Some universities accept the Level 2 equivalents in Literacy and Numeracy instead of the GCSEs. You should check with your preferred universities before starting a course.

If you would like to study for GCSE English and Maths online with Academy Online Learning, you can find more information here

If your preferred university accepts Level 2 Functional Skills, you can enrol on our Maths and English courses

Online Functional Skills Courses

It is possible to study on the online Access to Nursing course alongside the GCSE English & Maths courses if you have sufficient time available; however, many students choose to do the GCSE courses first.
