Most UK universities accept the Access to Higher Education Diploma as an entry qualification. It is a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification designed specifically for adults returning to education and progressing to university.
However, we strongly advise all prospective students to carefully check the individual entry requirements on the university course pages they are interested in. Universities often clearly state whether they accept Access to HE Diplomas and, if so, how many Merits and Distinctions they require for admission.
If the university website does not mention Access to HE Diplomas explicitly, it is best to contact the admissions department directly to confirm whether they accept it and to ask about any specific subject or unit requirements they may expect from applicants.
Typically, universities will set a requirement that totals 45 graded credits, for example, 30 credits at Merit and 15 credits at Distinction. These expectations must always add up to the full 45 graded credits, as the remaining 15 credits on the diploma are ungraded.
At Academy Online Learning, we provide full support and guidance to help you understand the requirements for your chosen degree course and to help you plan your studies accordingly.
