A: No. AOLL does not require a previous Business or Communication qualification to begin the diploma. The learning materials introduce Level 3 concepts progressively. Q: Will I study customer communication?
A: Yes. The Customer Service unit examines the skills needed to develop effective customer relationships. Students consider how communication can be adapted to suit the different needs and expectations of customers.

A: The course includes the ungraded Exploring Marketing Concepts unit. Students study market research, segmentation, targeting, positioning and the marketing mix. Marketing is also considered when students develop a business plan.

Q: Is the Access diploma equivalent to an A Level or BTEC in Business and Communication?
A: An Access to HE Diploma, an A Level and a BTEC are different Level 3 qualifications with different structures and assessment methods. The Access diploma contains 60 credits: 45 graded Business credits and 15 ungraded academic skills credits.
Q: Can I complete the Business and Communication Access diploma entirely online?

What is Access to Higher Education?
The Level 3 Diploma is designed to prepare adults for university-level study and can support applications to degree courses. With Academy Online Learning, you can complete this qualification entirely online, making it highly accessible and flexible to fit your schedule. This course is designed for adults without a current Level 3 qualification who want to prepare for university study.
How do I get my certificate?
Academy Online Learning is a Skills and Education Group Access Recognised Centre and is approved to run the Access to Higher Education Diploma. You will aim to complete the diploma by our June moderation for a September University start or the November moderation for the January or following June University start.

All of the courses are online and include interactive activities and interactive learning materials. When you start the course you will be assigned a tutor immediately and have access to our state-of-the-art student hub.
